Valances are not the only type of top window treatments, but there are cornices as well. Cornices are hard top treatments where the fabric is upholstered to a board cut into the desired shape. Cornices can be made in many different shapes. In the two photos below, both partial arched and curved step arch shape are shown. Depending on the fabric and shape choice, a cornice can add to any style design, like the ones in the photo add to the classy, elegant design of the rooms.
